In  Sleeping With Macbeth, I explore life, love, writing, Ireland, holidays, and people through poetry. This book documents my struggle during a very dark period and the desire to begin again, not with another love, but with life.

Take away color from the Emerald Isles, and what remains are images hauntingly evocative. 

 

This book is a collaboration between myself and Sam Beckett, a friend I met in Ireland. He showed me around, and I bought him a pint.  I wrote a poem, and he bought me a whiskey.  It is a miracle we accomplished anything at all!

What happens to the characters in a fairy tale after “happily ever after?” Many cultures have a version of Cinderella because it is the ultimate underdog story of a bullied young girl in rags beating the odds and rising to the top. Cinderella’s End is about what happens after the ball and the marriage and asks the question, did Cinderella actually find true love?  

Theatre Builds Character shows how a teacher could use theatre to teach character education and critical thinking skills or can use character education and critical thinking skills to teach theatre. 

The starting point of this book is the ancient Zen poem, Riding the Ox Home by Kaku-an Shi'en, a Zen master of the Sung Dynasty. The poem is a metaphor for enlightenment. It is used here as a way of discussing enlightened acting. The book examines famous Zen expressions through the lens of the theatre artist.
